This guide will assist you in connecting and playing music through the VSSL A.1x speaker system located on the patio. Please follow the steps based on your device and preferred streaming service.

Connect to Wi-Fi

First and foremost, ensure your device is connected to the home Wi-Fi network. This is crucial for using the speaker system.

Using Spotify Connect

To play music directly from Spotify, regardless of whether you’re on an iPhone or Android device, follow these steps.

• Open Spotify: Ensure you are logged in and start playing a song.
• Access devices: Tap on the “Devices Available” icon, which looks like a speaker in front of a screen.
• Connect to the speaker: Select “PATIO” under “Connect to a device” to enjoy your music.

Playing Music from an iPhone or iPad (Airplay2)

Follow these steps if you are using an iPhone and wish to use Airplay2.

• Open your music app: Choose the song or playlist you want to play.
• Use Airplay: Tap the AirPlay icon, which looks like a triangle with circles at the bottom.
• Select the speaker: From the list of available devices, choose “PATIO” to start playing your music.

Playing Music from an Android Phone

If you are using an Android device, here’s how to stream music using Chromecast.

• Open your music app: Select the music you wish to play.
• Tap the Chromecast icon: This icon resembles a TV with a Wi-Fi signal.
• Choose the speaker: Select “PATIO” from the list to begin streaming.

Note: Your device must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the speaker.

Troubleshooting

I don’t see PATIO listed as a speaker.

Solution 1: Make sure you are connected to the house Wi-Fi network (TropicalGetawayHub)
Solution 2: A light switch inside the house controls the outdoor power outlet. Make sure it’s on.

The maximum speaker volume is too low.

We set the maximum volume lower than the possible output from the speakers to avoid disturbing the neighbors. It’s not possible to make it too high.
